Curious About Math?

Our curious firsties have been challenging their brains in a whole new way!  Their new first grade counting goal is 120.  We spend lots of time trying to count to 100 in 1 minute.  Here is a video that reinforces this skill and does it in 1 minute!!

While this may seem challenging at first, we are very impressed with how quickly our firsties have embraced this challenge.

Along with counting, our firsties are developing multiple strategies to solve addition and subraction problems.  This can be reinforced at home with conversation about numbers when at the grocery store, out to dinner, or any other event that includes numbers.  Here are some books that can be read at home to support addition and subtraction.

Here are some websites that can support your student's math progress.  Please try to do them each night.
